    Temple of Osirion in Abydos

In the city of Abydos, modern Egypt, we find one of the most incredible ancient structures: “the ancient temple of Osiris” also known as Osirion or Osireon. It is located at the back of the temple of Seti I. and is made with limestone, reddish sandstone, and granite.

This temple was buried under the sands of time until the beginning of the 20th century. Flinders Patrie and Margaret Murrey, both archaeologists, discovered it accidentally while excavating the temple of Seti. At present, it is not possible to access the interior, due to the flooding caused by the rise in the water table of the underground water layer, which is approximately one meter high.

Inside the temple, going down the metal staircase and looking to the right, you can see on one of the blocks the symbol of the Flower of Life burned into the stone in a way that even today the technique is unknown.

There are those who dare to say that the symbol seems to be engraved with some kind of laser. To date there is no evidence to support this claim other than the fact that it “looks like this”. For some archaeologists, its origin and function is unknown.

There are several details that generate intrigue about the construction of this temple, such as the enormous size of the red granite blocks used in its construction (some weighing up to 100 tons) as well as the lack of prolific inscriptions and the distance of 300 km from where it was extracted.

Also striking is its similarity to the valley templeofKhafre’s pyramidand the Great Sphinx at Giza, with some fans suggesting that it could be a reused earlier building or a copy of it.

Many believe that this temple was not located below ground but that sediments began to accumulate until it was completely covered. It is also possible that it was not built by the ancient Egyptians, but rather was an ancient site built by a civilization that preceded them and those who found it then built their temples around it.

This is why perhaps the most important reason that goes against the conventional dating of this structure is the architectural context. The new architecture of the ancient Egyptian temples is incredibly different in its style and form. And although each temple of the new kingdom is unique, there is a multiplicity of stylistic coherence among its designs.

The following images show the temple of Seti I, which, as you will see, is of another architectural design, where the Flower of Life Egypt is located.

But this is not all, if you think that the temple of Osirion where the flower of life is found in Egypt is the only place where it is found, then I assure you that you will be surprised. Engravings have also been discovered in Israel, Turkey, China, India, Japan, Iraq, Spain, Mexico, France, Bulgaria, Scotland, Hungary, Poland, and Austria.

How many more places will there be to discover? What more hidden secrets are there about the Flower of Life?
